Privacy statement

We have drawn up this privacy and cookie statement to make clear that we take the privacy of all personal data we come into contact with within Njalowei Foundation very seriously. For this reason, the personal data we collect is carefully processed and secured. In doing so, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is Njalowei Foundation

Njalowei Foundation is an organization that, under the Lord's blessing, is committed to spreading God's Word, giving this shape through evangelistic activities and education grounded in reformed thinking, and additionally offers diaconal aid. All of this with the aim of the honor of God's name and the building up of His Kingdom.

Our starting point is the Bible as the infallible Word of God and the Dutch Confession of Faith, the Canons of Dort, and the Heidelberg and Westminster Catechisms based on it.

The board acts in line with the core values, based on the Biblical perspective of justice and mercy: co-responsibility, being a fellow creature, compassion, stewardship and mutual dependence.

Because our neighbors are fellow creatures, we reject discrimination, unwanted intimacy, (sexual) harassment, bullying, aggression, (sexual) violence, abuse, exploitation, bribery and any other form of (suggestion of) unwanted behavior in words and conduct. Njalowei Foundation focuses on creating hope and new opportunities for children, teenagers and adults.

2. What personal data we process

Your personal data is processed by us for:

• Donor administration – donor master data is used for the administrative processing of donors.
• Contact with donors – master data and data regarding the relationship to projects are used to inform about projects and developments within Njalowei Foundation and to thank you for your support.
• Project administration – master data of project partners is used for the administrative processing of project contributions.
• Project coordination – master data and data regarding the relationship to projects of project partners or beneficiaries are used for coordinating and informing about the projects they are involved in.
• Contact with stakeholders – master data is used to provide requested information or to handle information received.

We may use personal data at an anonymized level for research purposes to optimize our range of services and our activities. This anonymized data can never be traced back to you as an individual.

We use this data because it is necessary for the agreement or the conclusion or settlement thereof. We keep this data for as long as necessary to realize our objective as well as possible. After that we destroy it, unless we are legally obliged to keep it longer.

3. Website visits

Click behavior and visit data. When you use our website, we obtain general visit data. This concerns the IP address of your computer, the time of the request and data your browser sends along. We use this data for statistical analyses of visit and click behavior on the website. We also use it to optimize the functioning of the website.

We use this data because of our legitimate interest in monitoring and improving our website. We keep anonymized data for as long as it is relevant to us.

Cookies. When you visit our website, cookies are placed on your computer for various purposes. These cookies may be functional or analytical; we do not track your browsing behavior.

4. Newsletter and contact form

To keep you informed as an interested party or potential sponsor, you can subscribe to our newsletter. If you would like us to contact you, this can also be done through our website.

When you sign up for our newsletter, we do so only with your consent. The data is kept until you cancel the subscription. We then keep your email address on our block list, so that you cannot accidentally be added again afterwards. We ask for your name when signing up, so that we can make our newsletters more personal.

5. Sharing personal data

Njalowei Foundation will never sell your personal data to third parties. We only share your data with third parties when this is permitted under current legislation. It may happen that we provide your personal data to third parties because:

• we have engaged them to process certain data;
• it is necessary to carry out the agreement with you;
• you give permission for this;
• we have a legitimate interest in doing so;
• we are legally obliged to do so.

To provide that service, Njalowei Foundation may provide your personal data to parties located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). We only do this if there is an appropriate level of protection for the processing of personal data, for example by using a model agreement from the European Commission.

6. Security

Njalowei Foundation takes the protection of your personal data particularly seriously. Appropriate measures are taken to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized alteration. Your personal data is stored on secure platforms that can only be accessed with a username and password.
