A first aid post in Limba

This post serves as the first point of contact for the local population and surrounding villages for basic healthcare and emergency assistance. The medical work takes place under challenging circumstances, including a tropical climate with high humidity, limited facilities and limited access to advanced medical resources.

Many treatments focus on tropical diseases: infections such as malaria, dengue, cholera, scabies, skin infections and respiratory infections.

Pregnant women are also guided here and there is mother-and-child care. There is regular contact with a specialised team of GPs and tropical doctors in the Netherlands. This allows a diagnosis to be made and a treatment plan drawn up based on experience.

It was a festive moment when the ribbon was cut and the clinic was officially opened. The onlookers were briefly pointed to Psalm 103, which speaks of the sickness that is healed, and were told about the one Physician who grants healing to the spiritually sick. At the entrance of the clinic hangs a sign with this text, with the school and church in the background.
