Cleared land between Malal and Rochen

Between the villages of Malal and Rochen lies a beautifully cleared piece of land. Where once shrubs and barrenness dominated, room has now been made for growth and a future. In the distance the joyful sound of singing and playing children can be heard. Their voices carry far across the field and give the landscape a lively colour.

A school among the palm trees

As we come closer, we see a beautiful school standing among the swaying palm trees. A place of learning, meeting and hope. Children run around laughing on the schoolyard. Their joy is contagious.

Water from the tap

In the middle of the grounds stands a remarkable water source. This innovative facility is equipped with several taps. No more heavy buckets from deep wells, but simply turning a tap and the water flows: fresh, cool and pure drinking water. Clear and refreshing in the heat of the day.

The children gratefully quench their thirst. What seems self-evident to many is here a precious blessing. Clean drinking water means health, strength and concentration to learn.

Living Water

But there is more. Inside the school the children may not only learn to read and write. They may also hear about the Living Water. As the Lord Jesus speaks in the Gospel of John about the water that He gives – water that satisfies the soul and gives eternal life.

What a privilege that at this place care for daily life and the proclamation of the Gospel come together. Here not only knowledge grows, but also hope.
