Cooperation with Masanga Hospital
Referral from the first aid posts
Njalowei works closely together with Masanga Hospital in Sierra Leone. From our first aid posts we help people with a wide range of health complaints. When a patient needs specialist care that we cannot provide, we refer him or her on to Masanga Hospital.
Mutual benefit
The costs of these treatments are paid by Njalowei. This gives patients access to the care they need, while Masanga Hospital receives income for the care provided.
This way we not only strengthen the health of our patients, but also contribute to the continuity and sustainability of the hospital.
Dutch involvement
Masanga Hospital is a hospital supported by Dutch organisations with which we have a close partnership. Through our Dutch contacts and a committed Dutch nurse we maintain short lines of communication, so that patients can be helped quickly and well.
A stronger care system
This cooperation ensures that people in our project areas have access to both primary care at the first aid posts and specialist hospital care when needed. Together we are building a stronger and more accessible care system for the local population.
