Reformed Education Malal
In Malal, work is underway to build a Reformed school, so that children in this village gain access to Christian education.

A village in poverty
In the district of Malal lies the small village of Rochen. It is a remote place where poverty marks daily life. Many families struggle to make ends meet, and for a large number of children, school remains an unattainable dream. Precisely there, where the future is so vulnerable, education is of inestimable value.
Education opens doors
Education means more than just learning to count and write. It gives children the chance to grow up into independent adults, who need not remain dependent on outside help. But perhaps even more important: learning to read opens the door to the Bible and to Christian literature. This way children can come to know, examine and treasure God's Word for themselves.
The school of Malal
Out of this deep need, a school building has come into being in Malal. Since January 2026 the school has been open, and new pupils are admitted periodically. Every day they are formed and encouraged to live according to God's commandments. They not only learn knowledge and skills, but are also given tools to become a stronger and more self-reliant community later on.
A safe and secure environment
The school is more than a place to learn. It is a safe haven where there is attention for one another, for hygiene and for structure. Children experience care, routine and security there, things that are often lacking in their home situation. What they receive here, they carry with them for the rest of their lives.
A future under God's blessing
May this school be a bright spot in Rochen. A place where children are trained for a better future, not only with knowledge and skills, but also with the Word of God in their hearts. As described in Jeremiah 29:11b: "to give you a future and a hope." In this environment, where opportunities are often scarce, the children of Rochen may grow up under God's Word, which offers them a future stronger than their current circumstances.
