Nutrition
Rice is regularly distributed at various locations to support the daily need for food.

Project description Nutrition
In the villages of Malal Rochen, the city of Freetown and in the children's homes in Makollo and Kaballa, the foundation supports children and vulnerable families with food. For many children and elderly people, a daily meal cannot be taken for granted. Through the foundation's support they regularly receive nutritious meals, which helps prevent malnutrition and gives children the energy they need to learn, play and develop healthily.
Meals at school
Within the different projects, this support is given shape in various ways. School-going children receive a meal at school, or can buy a nutritious meal prepared by local women for a small contribution. This not only helps the children, but also gives mothers from the community the opportunity to earn a small contribution to the family income.
Local food and festive meals
The meals mainly consist of rice, cassava and peanut soup, foods that are available locally and form an important source of energy. During festive occasions, communal meals are organised where the children and their families enjoy extra food together, sometimes supplemented with meat. These moments strengthen the bond between people and bring joy within the community.
Extra help around Christmas time
In addition to daily support, extra attention is given each year to the most vulnerable families. Around Christmas time, families, elderly people and those who cannot care for themselves due to illness, old age or a disability receive a bag of rice or other food aid. For many, this brings great relief during a period when food is often scarce.
Children's homes Makollo and Kaballa
In the children's homes in Makollo and Kaballa, the foundation ensures that the children receive a warm meal every day. After school they can count on a nutritious meal in a safe environment. Here they not only receive physical care, but also guidance, education and Christian formation. Shared meals, singing songs and reading from the Bible contribute to an environment of care, security and hope.
More than food
With this nutrition project, the foundation wants to contribute to a better future for children and vulnerable families. By providing one of the first necessities of life, hunger is not only combated, but room is also created for education, development and a stronger community life. In this way a simple meal brings much more than just food: it brings hope, dignity and perspective.
