A school in the middle of Bontiwo

In the middle of the village of Bontiwo, right next to a lively market where trade takes place daily, a new school building has been realised. A place of development, future and hope right at the heart of the community.

Clean water for school and village

Good education is of great importance for the children. But at least as important is clean drinking water at school. Water to drink, to wash hands, to stay healthy. That is why a beautiful new water pump has been placed at the school.

Not only the pupils make grateful use of it. Many villagers also come to this new source every day. The handle is skilfully moved up and down, and soon clear water flows abundantly from the pump. Fresh, clean and safe.

A change for Bontiwo

What a change for Bontiwo. Where people used to have to travel long distances to fetch water, they can now go nearby, close to home. No more hours-long walks under the hot sun, but a reliable facility right in the middle of the village.

A sign of hope

A sign near the pump refers to the Bible. This gives the place an even deeper meaning. For just as water is indispensable for the body, so God's Word is indispensable for the heart. The pump may therefore convey more than just water. In this way this water pump in Bontiwo stands as a visible sign of care, connection and hope, for young and old.
